Borno: Troops Eliminate 31 ISWAP Terrorists, Capture 70

Nigerian Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have eliminated 31 ISWAP terrorists and captured 70 others in Borno state. 

This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the Defence Headquarters, Musa Danmadami today in Abuja.

Danmadami said out of the 70 captured, 60 of them were the terrorists' logistics suppliers conveying grains, ammunition, fuel and other things. 

He added that the troops also rescued two civilians from the terrorists while 366 alongside their families surrendered. 

He further stated that the troops had on 11th October repelled terrorists ambush on troops which led to the killing of 18 terrorists.

The troops also recovered cache of arms during the attack. 

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Danmadami said: “Cumulatively, within the weeks in focus, troops recovered 14 AK47 rifles, two GPMG, one M21 rifle, one 125mm artillery bomb, 40 rounds of 7.62mm special, six Dane guns, one locally made gun, one vehicle, four mobile phones, five bicycles and 11 motorcycles.

“Also recovered are 64 bags of beans, five bags of maize, large quantities of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa.

“Medical supplies, assorted clothing materials, 46 livestock, the sum of N250,000 and other sundry items."
