Borno: Zulum In Mafa, Gifts House-Owners 2,674 Cattle

The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum was in Mafa Local Government Area of the state today where he announced the distribution of 2,674 cattle among other things to house-owners.

Out of the 2,674 cattle were 873 cows and 1,801 goats.

The governor also distributed foodstuffs and clothes as a measure to improve livelihoods of the people.

Zulum who was at the council area to resettle the communities displaced by Boko Haram terrorists in the past years said the move was necessary as support to families.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Malam Isa Gusau, the governor explained that: "437 male heads of households were to each have a pair of bull and Heifer, while 64 female heads of households were to each receive a pair of she-goat and a he-goat. 

"Additionally, 503 housewives were each to get a pair of she-goats and one he-goat."

Governor Zulum also announced the distribution of two 50kg bags of rice and maize, a gallon of vegetable oil, a mattress, plastic mat, blanket and clothing materials to each household resettled.

He further stated that each resettling family including female heads of households will receive N100,000 support grants.
