Bowen Varsity Appoints Female Pro-Chancellor

Joan Olatoyosi Ayo has been appointed as the Pro-Chancellor of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State by the Executive Committee of the Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC), headed by Israel Akanji.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Joshua Ogunwole while speaking at the reception and the thanksgiving organised by the appointed pro-chancellor and her predecessor, Oluwole Abegunde respectively, said he was satisfied by the achievement of the former pro-chancellor.

The President of the executive committee, Akanji, added that Abegunde was a blessing to the service in his six years as the pro-chancellor, noting that he promoted both academic and physical activities in BOWEN.

Akanji further said the institution would continually collaborate with different organisations to fund the smooth running in terms of research and teaching.

“It is high time the Federal Government extended financial support to private institutions, the development would go a long way to fortify private universities’ efforts to education development.

In reaction, the new pro-chancellor said her tenure would enhance godliness, excellence and leadership while focusing on students and policies.
