Here is a quick peek at the biggest earners in Nigerian cinemas over the past one week. We take a look at the highest grossers and thier positions on the Nigerian Box Office ranking for the week.
1. Dinner At My Place
The romantic comedy which tells the story of Nonso who is planning to propose to his girlfriend over dinner.
However, things take a turn for the worst when his dramatic ex-girlfriend (Bisola Aiyeola) shows up uninvited.
The film has overtaken last week’s table topper ('Spider-Man: No Way Home') to become the new number one on this week’s Nigerian Box Office.
It grossed a total of eleven million, five hundred and sixty seven thousand, five hundred and sixty five naira (N11,567,565) in its first week.
Although 'No Way Home' is still the biggest movie released last year, it falls down a place in the Nigerian box office ranking after it grossed nine million, three hundred and seventeen thousand, eight hundred and seventeen thousand, eight hundred and seventy six naira (N9,317,876) in Nigerian cinemas in its seventh week.
Last week’s number two also dropped down one place to third on the Nigerian box office ranking as it struggled to really meet up with the likes of 'No Way Home' and 'Dinner At My Place'.
It grossed a total of Six million, four hundred and fifty thousand, and thirty five naira (N6, 450, 035) in its third week in cinemas.
The festivities are over and that seems to be the case of this Christmas-themed movie too.
It dropped down one spot to number four(4) on the Nigerian box office, as it grossed four million, two hundred and nineteen thousand, and fifty naira (N4,219,050) in its sixth week in cinemas.
This movie is no doubt a big head-turner but the fact remains that time defines all things as the Disney movie moved one step down the pecking order to fall to fifth in the latest Nigerian box office ranking.
'The King's Man' amassed a total of four million, and eighty three thousand, five hundred and seven naira (N4,083, 507) in its sixth week in cinemas.
