Some armed thugs suspected to be on their way to Ekiti State have been apprehended by officers of the Nigerian Army.
According to the information obtained from impeccable sources, the suspected armed thugs were coming to Ekiti from Ibadan before they were arrested by soldiers at about 3:00 am on Wednesday at Ita Aware/Efon Junction.
The source who craved anonymity also claimed that the thugs were coming to invade Ekiti to stalemate the Peoples Democratic Party Primary Election and prevent the emergence of a candidate for the 2022 governorship election.
The source claimed the arrested thugs came in several vehicles and they are currently being held by the soldiers.
As of the timing of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation of the arrests.
