Thanks for your patience!
According to data on Downdetector and Twitter, the outage is affecting every Facebook-owned platform.
Users posted messages on Twitter saying the popular social networking and communication platforms were inaccessible from around 4 pm Nigeria time.
The outages quickly started trending on Twitter as users flocked to the competing social network to check to see if other users were affected by the down time. Humorously, the hashtag “#DeleteFacebook,” “WhatsApp” is also trending on Twitter as the company battles continued pushback against the effects its platforms have on younger users.
All three Facebook properties are market leaders in Nigeria in their categories of instant messaging, photo sharing and social networking.
