Brentford 1-2 Fulham: Fulham Promoted To EPL Ahead Of 2020-2

Brentford lost the EPL promotion to Fulham in the last match of the season in the EFL Championship playoffs final after brilliant Joe Bryan free-kick beats David Raya at the post. Fulham was the better side starting the match at the front foot. He was awarded the man of the match with an 8.1 rating.

The match was a thriller with not just EPL promotion on the table but also financial rise to the club and players alike.

Both teams pushed very hard to get the win but no goal was scored for the full 90 mins with numerous chances wasted or not converted into goals. Throughout the game, Brentford had 17 shots but just 5 on target while Fulham had 16 shots on goal but 8 on target which speaks little on their clinicality in-front of goal.

The goals started coming in extra-time. Joe Bryan scored a spectacular free-kick from 25 yards out catching the goalkeeper unaware, shooting the ball at the post instead of sending a cross in which resulted in a worldie from afar.

12 minutes after the free-kick goal, Joe Bryan again scored a curler from a close range to push Fulham ahead in the game to 2-0, Just before the final whistle, Dalsgaard scored for Brentford to make it 2-1 but it was not enough to take the game to penalty.

Fulham is back in EPL after a year exile in EFL Championship but would need to work on signings, tactics if they want to stay in the EPL this season.
