Khadija Abdullahi lost her eye when members of a vigilant group started hitting everyone their hands could reach at her wedding
A bride, Khadija Abdullahi has lost her right eye during her wedding celebration in Kano.
The unfortunate incident took place on Sunday when members of a vigilante group stormed a party held by the bride and friends.
Reports say the vigilante group members started hitting anyone they could get their hands on, including the bride.
Khadija accused the members of displaying extreme hatred on her day and called for justice.
The groom, Hamisu Bala who spoke shortly after the gruesome incident said he was aware of a threat by the vigilante members to distort the party, though he did not disclose why.
He called on authorities to ensure justice for his bride and himself.
Also speaking to newsmen, the bride's Father, Mallam Abdu Ma'azu shared that he was at Tudunmurtala when he received a call explaining that his daughter has lost an eye.
He said they have since notified the police and took Khadija to a hospital.
