Brit Awards: Rapper Dave Blasts Boris Johnson As Racist

 

British rapper Dave lyrically blasts Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson over racism allegations at the BRIT Awards on Tuesday.

For all the right reasons, the 40years old Britain annual pop music honours awarded the "How I Met My Ex" crooner the coveted album of the year award for his song “Psychodrama.”

In a short address to the crown, the rapper seized to moment to tackle Britain prime minister rapping rhymes;

“It is racist whether or not it feels racist. The truth is our prime minister is a real racist,” he rapped, in a powerful performance of his song “Black” on a white piano flashing with images.

“You can do anything that you put your mind to,” he told fans as he collected the award in a blue tracksuit.

Johnson has faced criticism in the past for referring to African people as “piccaninnies” with “watermelon smiles,” and this week, a Downing Street aide was forced to resign over racist remarks.

Other awarded artists include Lewis Capaldi, who won two awards; best new artist, award for song of the year.

Grime artist Stormzy, also bagged best male artist, American teen pop sensation Billie Eilish, was awarded best international female artist, and Mabel took home the award in the best female artist category.

Veteran rocker Rod Stewart closed the show by performing “Stay with Me”.
