Britain's Got Talent Host Simon Cowell Set On Fire During Audition

Popular British personality Simon Cowell got more than he bargained for on Wednesday's Britain's Got Talent audition show when he was set ablaze by a contestant.

Per a Sun report, the TV mogul's participation in the act was voluntary and he had no idea his head was going to be engulfed in flames.

Members of the audience who bore witness to the bizarre antic screamed in terror as the fire lit up Cowell's head.

"The audience screamed, judges were out of their seats screaming, everyone was totally stunned.

"The flames were put out and Simon got up looking a bit shell-shocked while the rest of the judges breathed a sigh of relief as he returned to the panel", a source who spoke with the aforementioned news outlet disclosed.

Cowell had his head covered with a black hood onstage and a magician placed it inside a box before dousing him with lighter fluid.

A match was then dropped into the box by the performer, leading to the hood going up in flames.

Speaking after the unexpected incident, the 63-year-old show host played down the whole thing.

"I could feel liquid being poured on me but I had no idea it was lighter fluid!", he shared.
