Three major airlines, easyJet, British Airways, and Ryanair, have said that they are taking legal action against the government of the United Kingdom over its "flawed" compulsory 14-day quarantine for international travellers.
In a bid to put the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in check, the UK Government created measures to ensure that the virus' spread abates, as the UK is one of the hardest-hit countries.

The airlines said that the measures by the UK Government will “have a devastating effect on British tourism and the wider economy and destroy thousands of jobs”, adding that they await the hearing of their judicial review "as soon as possible”.
They also said that “There was no consultation and no scientific evidence provided for such a severe policy."
Experts have asked why the British Government was imposing stricter measures on hotels and airline companies.
The airline companies said, “This would be the most practical and effective solution and enables civil servants to focus on other, more significant, issues arising from the pandemic while bringing the UK in line with much of Europe which is opening its borders mid-June."
