Following her engagement to Sam Asghari, Britney Spears is taking a sabbatical from Instagram.
It isn't unusual for celebrities to go off social media for some time but the singer had to assure fans who may be worried given what she has been through in recent times.
"Don't worry folks," she replied on Twitter after her disappearance caused concern among her admirers. I'm taking a break from social media to commemorate my engagement!!!! "I'll be back soon."
Spears and her longtime boyfriend, Sam Asghari, confirmed their engagement over the weekend.
In a statement to Fox News, Spears' lawyer Mathew Rosengart said that "it was her decision" to leave the social networking platform.
A source also told Page Six that "she's in a wonderful place" and that "she's happy." "And quiet can be a powerful thing and a powerful message," the insider added.
