Buhari Administration: We Didn't Experience Change In Contex

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate in the July 16, 2022, election in Osun state, Goke Omigbodun has expressed disappointment over the performance of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Expressing his disappointment on a radio current affairs programme in Osogbo on Monday, Omigbodun said Nigerians have experienced change but not in the context of Buhari’s promises before being elected as the president.

The All Progressive Congress (APC), the platform on which President Buhari got into power adopted ‘change’ as its slogan of in 2015.

Nigerians voted against former President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the change promised by APC.

Commenting on this, Omigbodun said Buhari promised change in corruption, restructuring, security etc, but there are no changes on it, rather things have become worse.

"We have experienced change but not in the context of what they promised and not what we hope for because when they were promising us change they told us Nigeria will be a better country in terms of corruption index and incidence they promised us change on the issue of security but not only has security worsen, most unfortunately the parochial view point of the president himself.

"He has introduced Fulanization with the security lapses, the security situation is now even a lot worse.

"To me, it is deceptive for anyone to think that there were anything like Islamization it was purely fulanization.

“Also road on the sentiment of islamization to let the rest of the Muslims in Nigeria to be carried away not recognizing that that it is that fulanization at work.

"They also promised us restructuring, that is what that pains me the most, because I voted for Muhammadu Buhari because they promised us change on the issue of restructuring on the politics not on the scratching on the skin on the surface.

“But this is not the change that we were promised.

"I was promised that my life will be better, now things have been worse, I was promised that perhaps many more Nigerians will be lifted out of the poverty.

”I am not going to deceive myself, I have being cut off of by the proverty web and I am praying now that I may also be able to get out of the poverty web."
