Lauretta Onochie, one of the media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari has been appointed as the National Electoral Commissioner representing Delta state.
Making this disclosure on the floor of the senate while reading the letter sent by Buhari to that effect, Ahmad Lawan the Senate President listed the names of three other Electoral Commissioner appointees for Kastina, Ekiti, and Jigawa.

Names of other commissioners appointed alongside Onochie are Mohammed Sani (Katsina), Prof. Kunle Ajayi (Ekiti), and Seidu Ahmed (Jigawa).
Buhari's letter to the lawmakers is seeking the approval of the newly appointed Electoral commissioner.
Onochie is the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media.
