President Muhammadu Buhari has on Saturday expressed grief over the murder of 43 farmers in Jere Local government area of Borno state by Boko Haram insurgents.
Buhari who condemned the gruesome murder in a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said that the government has given all the needed support to the armed forces to take all necessary steps to protect the country’s population and its territory.

Further describing the attack as insane Buhari said the entire country was hurt by the senseless killings.
“I condemn the killing of our hardworking farmers by terrorists in Borno State. The entire country is hurt by these senseless killings. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls Rest In Peace,” Buhari said.
Earlier on Saturday, a report by HumanAngle revealed that the Boko Haram insurgents beheaded 43 farmers at Zabarmari, less than 20 km from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
Following the report of the gruesome murder, former Kaduna Senator Shehu Sani condemned the attack on the Borno community.
Further describing the incidence as a great tragedy for the family of the murdered farmers Sani said:
"The reported massacre of over 40 farmers by insurgents in Borno state earlier today is condemnable.This is a recurring news for some,but a horrible tragedy for the children,wives and loved ones they left behind .Every dawn of a new day,our nation bleeds in the hands of evil."
Also reacting to the incident, former minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili called out President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal government for not acknowledging the death of the farmers 12 hours after the report.
Further stating that Buhari and his cabinet members don't care about Nigeria, Ezekwesili wrote:
"Wow. Tears drop . 43 citizens in one swoop. Farmers. Ha. No acknowledgement of their death by @NigeriaGov @MBuhari @NGRPresident @FMICNigeria 12 hours after their massacre? The country is not being governed and I think the President and his crew frankly don’t care at all. Kai."
