Buhari Expresses Solidarity Against Gender Based Violence

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday expressed solidarity with Nigerian women as they observe 16 days of activism against Gender-Based Violence from November 25 to December 10, 2021.

Femi Adesina, the President’s media aide said in a statement issued in Abuja that the president expressed solidarity when he received the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen who visited him.

The Minister had briefed President Buhari on various enlightenment activities of her ministry towards the international campaign.

She explained that the 16-day activism has “Orange the World: END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN NOW!’’ as its theme.

It began on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and would continue until Friday, December 10, the World Human Rights Day.

Tallen presented the President with commemorative items to mark his identification with Nigerian women.
