President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned Gambo Jimeta, a former inspector-general of police (IGP), who died on Thursday.
Buhari in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu expressed sadness over the sad incidence of Jimeta's death.
According to Buhari, the former police boss was a man of courage, intellect and a true Nigerian statesman,
Further revealing that Jimeta live for the nation and served with all his strength, Buhari prayed that God gives his family the fortitude to bear his loss
“Today, Nigeria lost a great son. He lived for the nation and served with all his strength,” Buhari said.
“May Allah bless his soul and give fortitude to the bereaved family, the government and people of Adamawa state to bear this irreparable loss.”
Jimeta who was the former IGP also served as the National Security Adviser to former head of state, Ibrahim Babangida,
Also, he was the representative of Adamawa state to the national conference held in 2014.
