Buhari Mourns Passing Of Renowned Publisher Onibonoje

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his condolences to the family of Pa Gabriel Onibonoje, a prominent author and publisher.

Onibonoje was one of the outstanding pioneers of contemporary indigenous book publishing in Nigeria.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Spokesman Femi Adesina, in a condolence message on Wednesday in Abuja, stated that the President shared the pain of the loss with the publishing industry, especially the Nigerian Publishers Association.

Buhari recognised the influential roles the late publisher played in advancing the culture of writing, reading, and knowledge-sharing through his historic leadership.

He reiterated that Onibonoje's legacy would live on through his books and the younger ones he inspired in the days.

The President offered prayers of peaceful repose for the departed publisher's soul.

Pa. Onibonoje was born on September 10, 1930, Ijebu Jesa, Oyo State.
