The President’s aide wrote, “The 2018/2019 President’s National Youth Service Corps Honours Award; President Buhari has offered automatic employment to 110 ex-corps members in the Federal Civil Service & scholarships for the pursuit of post-graduate studies up to doctoral level in any university in Nigeria.”

It was earlier reported that a total number of 110 ex-NYSC members who distinguished themselves during their service years will receive national honours.

The NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim said at a press briefing on Wednesday that 500 corps members from the state level were nominated for the awards by the National Selection Committee while only 110 made the final list.

“The processes are rigorous because we want to ensure that only those that duly qualify win the award, and for a corps member to win this award, he/she must have won the award from local government to the state and then forwarded to the national level,” Ibrahim said.

The NYSC DG appealed to corps members not to relent in their drive towards peace, growth and development of the country.
