Femi Fani-Kayode a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has tagged Buhari's comments on past administration as "misplaced aggression and expression of frustration".
According to Fani-Kayode, Buhari's comment on previous administrations while delivering his Independence anniversary speech was an acknowledgment of his own failure.
Fani-Kayode further held that the previous administration that Buhari referred to in his independent day message gave Nigerians back their self-respect while Buhari took them back.

"It is sad that Buhari attacked Obasanjo, Yar'adua & Jonathan in his speech. This is a case of misplaced aggression, an expression of frustration & an acknowledgment of his own failings. OBJ, UMYA & GEJ gave us back our dignity & self-respect. PMB came & took them back from us.," a tweet by Fani-Kayode read.
It will be recalled that president Buhari, during his Independence Day speech, said that his administration had performed better than previous administrations despite having limited resources at his disposal.
" No government in the past did what we are doing with such scarce resources. We have managed to keep things going in spite of the disproportionate spending on security. Those in the previous Governments from 1999 – 2015 who presided over the near destruction of the country have now the impudence to attempt to criticize our efforts," Buhari said.
