Nigeria's president, Muhammadu Buhari is set to sign into law, the electoral amendment bill this week says an optimistic lawmaker.
The lawmaker at the House of Representatives, Honorable Sergius Ogun disclosed that the National Assembly has made necessary amendments with respect to the loopholes pointed out by the president.
He added that this means that the president has no reason to reject the bill again.
AllNews Nigeria had reported that the president rejected to assent to the bill following the loopholes in issues relating to the mode of conducting primary elections by political parties.
However, the National Assembly has worked on the suggestions and transmitted them to the president for his assent.
In an interview with Vanguard, the lawmaker stated that "I am sure he will sign the bill into law this week."
