Buju TYE/BNXN
Fast-rising Nigerian singer Daniel Benson popularly known by his stage name Buju TYE has made a u-turn as he changes his stage name to 'BNXN' pronounced as 'Benson'
The singer made this known in a video post on his official Twitter page.
He didn't specify what brought about the change in name but it was specified by fans that his decision became necessary after the singer was mistaken for another Jamaican singer known as Buju Banton.
"It's no longer “Buju” Call me “Benson” written as ‘BNXN" Buju wrote.

Buju's management also put out an announcement, noting that the name change will take effect from today, February 18, 2022.
"It should be appreciated by the general public that Daniel Benson shall now be addressed professionally as “BNXN” concerning all future formal and business correspondence.
"Other than the formal change of his professional/stage name, all other details, structures, as well as previous or current contracts and other agreements remain intact and unaltered," the statement reads in part.
His announcement was welcomed with mixed reactions from his fans. Some felt it was necessary to pick a unique name different unassociated with another brand while another faction stated they can't stop calling the singer by his former stage name.

Buju’s name change to Bnxn is necessary imo. Always knew the similarity with Buju Banton was an issue.

Your individuality as an artist is very important, there’s bound to be limits when you have a similar stage name with an already established artist.
BNXN or BDSM, one thing I know for sure is that people won’t stop calling him Buju

Buju became popular through social media after asking netizens to tag Zlatan Ibile to a viral recording session video he posted so that he could dash him a free verse that came to pass.
After the viral video and a blessed verse from Zlatan, Buju was signed by Burna Boy to Spaceship Records with a remix to his single L’enu featuring Burna Boy being used as an introductory anthem for him. He was also featured on Feelings by Ladipoe.
