Bundesliga: Lewandowski's Penalty Saves Below-Par Bayern Against Augsburg

Bundesliga: Lewandowski's Penalty Saves Below-Par Bayern Aga

Robert Lewandowski scored a late penalty for Bayern Munich after a below-par performance in their 1-0 home win over Augsburg on Saturday, three days before a crucial Champions League tie against Villarreal.

Bayern struggled at the Allianz Arena until a handball by Augsburg defender Reece Oxford resulted in the penalty which Lewandowski tucked away eight minutes from time.

It was a rather dull affair for the German giants as they almost lost two points against Augsburg.

With a loss to Spanish side Villarreal during the mid-week Champions League, Bayern are showing their weak hands in games and they would need something special to turn the deficit against a more discipline Unai Emery's side.

Bayern host Villarreal on Tuesday in the Champions League quarterfinal.
