Bundesliga: Musiala Settles It Late As Bayern Munich Win 11t

German midfielder, Jamal Musiala scored late to help Bayern Munich clinch their 11th consecutive league title with a stunning 2-1 victory over Cologne.

The championship triumph came in dramatic fashion, Musiala's 89th-minute goal shattered the dreams of rivals Borussia Dortmund, who stumbled to a 2-2 draw against Mainz 05.

The win means Thomas Tuchel claimed his first Bundesliga title after a return to Germany.

Entering the last game of the season, Dortmund held the top spot but faltered under pressure, allowing Bayern to seize the opportunity. The title race had been fiercely contested throughout the campaign, making this victory even sweeter for the Bavarian giants.

Bayern got off to a strong start when Kingsley Coman brilliantly curled a shot into the top corner, giving his side an early lead. With Dortmund trailing in their match, Bayern remained in control, carefully managing the game without taking unnecessary risks.

However, Leroy Sane's goal just before halftime was disallowed after a VAR review deemed it a handball. Tensions grew as Bayern's club officials anxiously monitored the scoreline from Dortmund, knowing that any slip-up could cost them the title.

Cologne added another twist to the tale when they were awarded a penalty in the 80th minute, which Dejan Ljubicic converted to level the score. Sane seemed to have squandered Bayern's chance to claim the championship when he failed to beat the Cologne keeper in the 88th minute. However, fate had one final twist in store.

In a breathtaking turn of events, Jamal Musiala etched his name into Bayern's storied history. With just moments remaining on the clock, the young talent expertly curled a low drive into the far post, securing a vital victory and igniting wild celebrations among Bayern players and fans alike.

The final whistle confirmed Bayern Munich's 11th consecutive Bundesliga title, finishing on 71 points, edging out Dortmund on goal difference. RB Leipzig and the sensational Union Berlin claimed the third and fourth spots, respectively, guaranteeing their places in the upcoming Champions League season.

Meanwhile, the season ended in heartbreak for Dortmund, who were left to rue missed opportunities. Their dreams of lifting their first league trophy since 2012 were shattered, as they could only manage a draw against Mainz when victory was needed.
