Bundesliga Set To Release First-Ever NFT Collection

Germany's Bundesliga has partnered with non-fungible token (NFT) platform ToppsNFTs.com to release an exclusive collection of NFT trading cards.

The Bundesliga 2020-2021 Season Celebration NFT Collection by Topps, powered by the Avalanche blockchain platform, will feature top players, rising stars, memorable moments and more, all from the 2020-2021 season.

ToppsNFTs.com is owned by legacy trading card company Topps. The company has partnered with Ava Labs to develop ToppsNFTs.com – an application powered by Avalanche (AVAX), a public blockchain.

“Our vision is to create a fun, easy-to-use collecting experience on the Blockchain that appeals to all fans whether they have experience with NFTs or not,” Tobin Lent, VP & General Manager of Topps Digital Sports & Entertainment said in a press statement.

On August 10 at 6 p.m. WAT, Standard and Premium Packs of Topps’ Bundesliga 2020-2021 Season Celebration NFT Collection will be available for purchase through credit card, with card rarities ranging from Common to Legendary.

Video highlight and animated motion effect cards, Bundesliga card designs, facsimile autographs, and other NFT trade cards are included in this version.

“There are moments and players in each Bundesliga season that take our collective breath away, deserving of preservation and admiration,” says Robert Klein, the Bundesliga’s chief executive officer.
