Governor Mai Mala Buni
The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has approved the employment of 134 health workers in the state.
The governor said the approval is a move by his administration to respond to issues in the health sector for proper delivery.
As contained in a statement by his media aide, Mamman Mohammed, the health workers are graduates of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery in Damaturu.
The statement explained that the approval was for the employment of 67 midwives, 12 nurses and 55 community nurses.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the governor also approved the payment of N10,000 each to 167 nursing students in the college.
While noting the need for training of health personnel for effective healthcare delivery, he urged the new employees to be dedicated to their duties.
