Buni Bags Niger Republic's National Honour Award

The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has been honoured by the President of Niger Republic, Mohamed Bazoum.

Buni was awarded with the country's National Honour. 

The information of his conferment of the award was contained in a letter presented by Boucary Sani Malam Chaibou.

According to Chaibou the president approved the award in appreciation of Buni's contribution to building relationship between Nigeria and Niger Republic.

He noted that the National Honour awarded to the governor was in conformity with the provisions of the country's constitution.

This was contained in a statement by the spokesperson to the governor, Mamman Mohammed in Damaturu.

According to Mohammed, Chaibou said: "It was a recognition of Governor Buni 's active contributions to strengthening strong bilateral, economic and social relationship between Nigeria and Niger."

The governor appreciated President Bazoum, "the government and people of Niger Republic for the great honour and recognition."

He further assured of his continuous support and commitment in building stronger ties between the two countries. 

"Nigeria and Niger are brothers, we all have roles to play in strengthening peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding between the governments and people of the two countries" Buni said.

He added that the award would serve as a spring board that would spur him to do more to improve the bond between the two nations.

"I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the government and people of Niger Republic for this honour," Governor Buni said.
