The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni alongside his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana participated in the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day in Damaturu.
Buni and Gubana also laid the wreath to commemorate the Nigerian armed forces that lost their lives in service to the nation.
The country had set aside January 15 of every year for the celebration of its fallen heroes.
This was contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson to the deputy governor, Hussaini Mai Suleh on Sunday.
According to Suleh, while laying the wreath at the occasion, Gubana praised the Nigerian Army for the sacrifices they made in defending their father land.
He further explained that the effort of the Nigerian Army in securing the nation can never be in vain.
He prayed to Allah to protect the soldiers and give them success in various wars they are fighting across the nation and beyond.
He also prayed for the repose of the heroes that answered God's call while serving the nation.
