Buni Hosts Former Local Government Chairmen In Damaturu

The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has hosted former elected local government chairmen in Damaturu, the state's capital.

The chairmen were led by the former chairman of Fune local Government Area of the state, Hon Adam Arjo Kayeri on Thursday.

Governor Buni commended the chairmen for coming together to form a group for the progress of the state and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He further appreciated them for the visit. 

Buni who was represented by his Deputy, Idi Barde Gubana promised the ex-Chairmen of his support in their effort to move the state forward. 

This was contained in a statement signed and issued by the spokesperson to the deputy governor, Hussaini Mai Suleh on Thursday.

According to Suleh, the governor urged them to work hard in uniting members of the party to ensure its victory in the forthcoming general elections. 

Buni also described the former chairmen as competent, committed and experienced grassroots politicians.

He maintained that they had played significant roles in mobilising people for the successes recorded by the state government.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the interim chairman of the forum, Hon Adam Arjo Kayeri informed the Governor that their visit was to pay homage to him and express their unflinching loyalty and support to him.

He assured that they were always available to render their services at anytime. 

While introducing the executive members of the forum, he noted them as follows: "Secretary, Hon Usman Lamido; Legal adviser, Barr. Babayo Waziri and Hon Muhammad Musa Potiskum as public Relations Officer.

He further stated: "The forum was formed to Unite and uplift the grassroots politicians with a view to exchange views and ideas on how best to ensure peaceful, successful and hitch free elections."
