Buni Immortalizes Renowned Islamic Scholar, Names Market Aft

The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has immortalized the renowned Islamic Scholar in the state, Sheikh Ngibirma.

To honour the Sheikh's legacies, Buni named the newly constructed Nguru International Modern Market after him.

Meanwhile, the market is now to be known as Shiekh Ngibirma Modern Market. 

"He was an International scholar whose works are recognized in the Muslim World internationally" Buni said.

Governor Buni made the announcement when he received the overall national winner of the Qur'anic recitation with Tafsir (Translation) competition, Aisha Abdulmutalib in Damaturu, the state's capital.

The competition was held in Sokoto state. 

The governor said he was delighted over Aisha's victory, adding that she has made the state proud.

The governor further announced the gift of a house, appointment as Liaison Officer on Quranic recitation, scholarship to further her education and seat to perform Hajj alongside her husband.

Governor Buni also approved Hajj seats to officials who accompanied her to the competition in Sokoto.

He stressed the commitment of his government to provide quality lslamic and Western education across the state.

The governor said Yobe State as part of the old Ngazargamo empire that was known for lslamic knowledge will uphold the good old legacy of the empire.

Buni was eulogized by various scholars for his focus on building both Western and Islamic education in the state.
