Burna Boy
Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performing artiste Burna Boy has delighted fans by releasing his highly anticipated seventh studio album, titled ‘I Told Them…’.
Comprising a total of fifteen tracks, the album features a collection of both previously released and new songs that showcase Burna Boy’s musical versatility.
Among the pre-released tracks included are ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ featuring 21 Savage, ‘Big 7’, ‘Cheat On Me’ featuring Dave, and his remix of Byron Messia’s hit ‘Talibans’.
One of the album’s highlights is the collaborative efforts with renowned artists from both the American and Nigerian music scenes.
Burna Boy teamed up with American rappers J. Cole, GZA, and RZA, as well as Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez, to create captivating and diverse tracks.
Of particular note is the track ‘Thanks’, which features Burna Boy and J. Cole.
The song has been generating substantial buzz as it addresses Burna Boy’s involvement in the 2022 ‘Cubana’ shooting incident.
In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Burna Boy shed light on why he chose to collaborate with J. Cole on this project.
“The truth is often hidden, but when you come across it and you are a person of truth yourself, you can’t help but recognize it.
“That’s really the story of me and J Cole. It’s like, I recognise it.”
