Burna Boy revealed how he came about his stage name when he appeared on Jimmy Fallon's ‘The Tonight Show’ recently.
When asked how he came about ‘Burna Boy’, the 31-year-old ‘On The Low’ crooner said when he was young, he used to draw superheroes and comic characters.
He said that at one point, he wanted to sketch and be his own superhero.
He came up with Burna Boy while attempting to think up a name for his own superhero persona.
“This is weird but I used to draw comic books and stuff.
"I know I don't look like it but I used to draw comic books and like, copy different like spiderman, superman.
“At a point, I wanted to be my own superhero where I could draw me as a superhero, with the cape and all that.
“I was trying to come up with a name and all I could think of was Burna Boy,” Burna Boy said.
