Burna Boy Surpasses Fela as Highest Ranking Nigerian Artist

Burna Boy has been ranked no.6 on Billboard's World Albums Artists of 2020 as the only African on the list and now becomes the highest-ranking Nigerian artist ever on the chart surpassing Fela Anikulapo-Kuti who debuted on the chart in 2010 at no.8

Burna Boy took to his Twitter page to celebrate his nomination as he has continued to reach new heights with his Grammy-nominated album African Giant released last year, the album has recently been certified silver in the UK after selling the equivalent of 60 000 copies. The news comes after the Nigerian superstar's "Be Honest" collaboration featuring Jorja Smith was certified platinum in France in addition to "On The Low" having been certified gold earlier this year.

Over a year after the release of Burna Boy's 'African Giant' album, it has continued to receive international recognition.
