Burnley Sign Belgium Defender Delcroix From Anderlecht

Burnley have signed Belgium defender Hannes Delcroix from Anderlecht to bolster their backline.

The 24-year-old was signed for an undisclosed fee and agreed a three-year deal at Turf Moor.

"It's a great team. It was not difficult to come here when I got the option," Delcroix said.

"It's a different competition, the Premier League. Everybody knows it.

"It's the best competition in the world at the moment. I am happy to be here."

Delcroix started his career at Anderlecht and rose through the youth ranks to break into the first-term in 2018.

He played under head coach Vincent Kompany, who managed Anderlecht for two years from 2020.

He represented Belgium from Under-15 to Under-21 levels and won his only senior cap in a friendly against Switzerland in November 2020.

Meanwhile, Burnley are back in action in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon when they play host to Aston Villa.
