Why I suspended import duty on food items - Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has unveiled his reasons for approving the temporal suspension of import duties on selected food items into the country.

During the public presentation of Olusegun Osoba’s book “My Life in the Public Eye” in Lagos on Saturday, Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, said that these measures are designed to address food shortages and enhance affordability for consumers.Read more here.

AfDB kicks against suspension of import duty on food items

Dr Akinwunmi Adesina, the President of the African Development Bank, has expressed concerns over the federal government’s plan to import food stating that the policy is depressing.  

He stated this during the Council of Anglican Provinces of Africa retreat held in Abuja on Saturday where he spoke on the theme, ‘Food Security and Financial Sustainability in Africa.' Read more here.

EEDC seeks NSCDC's assistance in preventing vandalism

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, has reached out to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for help in protecting its facilities in Abia State from vandalism and destruction.

The electricity distribution company made the appeal through its District Manager, Iwuala Festus Chibueze during a courtesy visit to the Abia State Command of EEDC in Umuahia. Read more here.
