Ahmad Lawan, the President of the Nigerian Senate has sworn-in four new senators recently elected through bye-elections in different states across the country.
AllNews gathered that the Senate president swore the newly elected senators in on Tuesday, December 15.
The new senators are Senator Adetokunbo Abiru from Lagos East, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson from Bayelsa West, Senator Cleopas Moses from Bayelsa Central, and Senator Nora Ladi Dadu’ut from Plateau South.
This online news platform understands that the Clerk to the Senate, Ibrahim El-Ladan, administered the oath of office and oath of allegiance on the new senators.
While Seriake replaced Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo; Senator Cleopas is replacing Diri Douye; Abiru replaced the late Adebayo Osinowo and Dadu’t is replacing late Ignatius Longjan.

Ahmad Lawan, however, refused to swear in the senator-elect for Cross River North Senatorial District, Stephen Odey.
Odey had arrived at the National Assembly complex as early as 8 am with supporters from Cross River State in anticipation of the swearing-in.
Odey who was the Senior Legislative Aide, SLA to Governor Ben Ayade as a senator in the 7th Senate, was, however, disappointed when his name was not mentioned as one of those to take the oath of office.
With the swearing-in, the number of All Progressives Congress (APC) senators now stands at 63 while PDP now has 45 Senators.
