Rivers United head coach Stanley Eguma has revealed the reason his side emerged victorious against ASEC Mimosas of Cote d'Ivoire.
Eguma said his side's win can be attributed to a new strategy adopted.
The reigning Nigerian top flight champions thrashed the Ivorian giants 3-0 in the CAF Confederation Cup Group B matchday two clash.
Malachi Ohawume, Ukeme Williams and Dennis Ndasi sealed victory for the Pride of Rivers at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Sunday.
The result left Eguma impressed following his side losing 3-0 to Congo’s Diables Noirs on matchday one.
“It was a good game and I commend our opponents, they did well.
"ASEC is a big team, they are former African champions and being in the same group meant we have a strong opponent.
"After what happened in Congo, we fashioned another strategy to be able to nick a victory today,” he said in his post-match interview.
