CAF Confederations Cup: Kwara United Book Second Round Place, To Face Berkane

CAF Confederations Cup: Kwara United Book Second Round Place

Kwara-United

Kwara United qualified for the next round of the 2022-23 CAF Confederations Cup after a goalless draw against AS Douanes of the Niger Republic in Niamey.

Kwara United won the first leg in Lagos 3-0 to reduce their workload in the second leg.

The pre-match was marred with fetish allegations after Kwara United officials shared a video of two herbalists sprinkling blood on Kwara United players as they alighted from their bus.

Kwara United goalkeeper Adewale Olayinka was in impressive form, denying the hosts with a series of saves.

Barnabas Daniel was presented with a golden chance to grab the win for Kwara United, but his effort failed to hit the target.

The Harmony Boys held on to book a place in the second round of the competition.

A reward for their progress is a clash against defending champions, RS Berkane of Morocco next month.
