Carabao Cup: Lampard Hails Iwobi After MOTM Performance Against Fleetwood

Everton manager Frank Lampard hailed Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi for his performance against Fleetwood Town in the League Cup on Tuesday.

Iwobi was instrumental for Everton providing the assist for Demarai Gray in a 1-0 win over Fleetwood Town.

The Super Eagles star has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, starting his fourth consecutive game for Everton in a central midfield role, and Lampard is excited with his performances so far.

“Alex is playing at a really high level where he plays – midfield, higher up the pitch – and he works off the ball, and he’s a huge player for this squad. Lampard told Everton's official webpage.

“We’re delighted with his performances and since I’ve been here, he’s been getting better and better. He’s started the season in great form.”

Iwobi was named  Player of the Match by Everton fans following another match-winning performance.

Everton will be back in Premier League action against Brentford on Saturday, Iwobi will be hoping to earn his fourth start of the season in the league.
