US rapper, Cardi B, and US conservative commentator, Candace Owens, are embroiled in a feud that played out on Twitter over Cardi B’s hit single 'WAP'.
It all started on Monday when Candace appeared on Fox News and criticized Cardi B and Meghan Thee Stallion's performance of 'WAP' at the Grammy Awards which took place on Sunday.

The conservative commentator accused the rappers of contributing to the destruction of American values.
She said, “It’s terrifying. I think parents should be terrified that this is the direction our society is heading towards. We are weakening America… We are about to see the end of an empire. America cannot survive, it cannot be sustained with these sorts of values.”
In response, Cardi shared the clip on Twitter and wrote, “Yaaaayyyyyyy we made Fox News guys!!! Wap wap wap.”
She later added, “Matter fact I’m just going to thank Candy. She put my performance on Fox News giving it more views that boosted the views on YouTube and is counting towards my streams and sales. STREAM ‘UP’ AND ‘WAP.’
Candace OwensAfter several back and forth between the duo, things took a wrong turn when Cardi shared a screenshot of an alleged tweet by Owen that claimed her husband cheated on her with her brother.
In response, Owen claimed the tweet was doctored and threatened to sue Cardi for slandering her brother, whom she referred to as a 'private citizen.'
FYI I DO have a brother, a private citizen, who you are slandering right now with this photoshopped image that you are now publicly claiming you saw tweeted in real life.
You want to admit you lied now, or get sued so I can expose you as a liar?
I win either way. https://t.co/aiBOghhcv6— Candace Owens (@RealCandaceO) March 16, 2021
Cardi doubled-down and claimed she saw the tweet go out on the day Owen was trending and pointed out that it had been published by a blog and assumed to be true. In retaliation, Cardi also threatened to sue Owen for claiming that she personally photoshopped the tweet.
Eventually, Owens posted a 13-minute video to her Instagram account about the exchange and her intentions to sue Cardi.
This would not be the first time the two would come head-to-head.
In 2020, the two had a brawl when Owen called Cardi B an 'Illiterate rapper' after she had a 16-minute chat with President Joe Biden.
In an interview, Owens condemned Biden for doing an interview with the “WAP” rapper. She claimed Biden thinks black people are stupid because he chose to sit down with an “illiterate rapper”.
Cardi B responded by saying that Biden did the interview with her because of how influential she is.
