The wife of Osun State Governor, Titilola Adeleke, has urged privileged Nigerians to do more in taking care of the underprivileged.
This is as she donated food items, toiletries, and disinfectant to three orphanages in Osogbo and Ilesa as part of activities marking her birthday.
Adeleke gave the charge while speaking before donating bags of rice, beans, vegetable oil, gari, palm oil, toiletries, and disinfectant among others to FOMWAN Orphanage Home, Osogbo; Children Care Unit, Osogbo; and HOPE Mobola Orphanage, Ilesha, Osun State, to mark her birthday.
“It is our collective responsibility to assist the underprivileged, especially these young children, in terms of clothing and food to enable them to have a sense of belonging.
“If you and I can be giving out from the little we have, life would be more comfortable for all of us."
In their separate reactions, the Amirah of FOMWAN, Sadiat Oladapo; Matron Children’s Care Unit, Testing Ground, Alade Esther; and the Human Resource Personnel, Hope Mobolaji Orphanage, Bose Joseph, commended Adeleke for her kind gesture towards orphans in the state.
Meanwhile, Governor Adeleke has described his wife as a worthy partner with excellent conduct as the face of Osun State at the Assembly of Governors’ Spouses.
This is according to a statement made available by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Saturday.
“In rough and good times, you are a pillar of support and a symbol of partnership for common success and progress.
“I cherish your life of humility, patience, loyalty, and commitment to the progress and advancement of our family. I must particularly put on record my admiration of your excellent representation of Osun State at the various programmes and activities of the Governors’ Spouses in Abuja and other parts of the federation. You stand out as a responsible face of Osun State.”
