Cavani renewed his link with the Red Devils for another year, until June 2022. This season, the Uruguayan striker registers 15 goals and is being a key piece for the club.
Cavani: "From the very first moment that I arrived, I felt the confidence of the manager. As a player, this belief gives you the perfect opportunity to play your best football and I want to thank him for that."
Since his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, he has remained an important player in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad.
Earlier in March after a statement that was tagged racist by the England FA, Cavani was unhappy and was thinking of a move away to Boca Juniors.
"(Edinson) today does not feel comfortable where he is," Luis Cavani told Argentine television channel TyC Sports back in March "He has been thinking for more than two years that he wants to be closer to the family."
Luis Cavani said his son was also unhappy with his treatment by English football authorities over his suspension earlier this season for using a racial term in a social media post.
It seems all that is in the past now after he penned a contract extension for another year at Old Trafford and could clinch two European cups -- starting with the Europa League and later the UEFA Super Cup, something missing from his trophy cabinet.
