Celebrity Siblings: Nigeria’s Famous Pairs Of Brothers And

The Nigerian entertainment industry in many cases is a family affair, where we have two or more siblings in either the film or music industry.

In some cases, one is more successful than the other (s) but the family bond is what makes them strong.

AllNews brings you a compilation of siblings who in the entertainment industry.   Some you already know, others, you might not. From Teni Makanaki and Niniola to the Afolayans’, these famous faces have carved a niche for themselves in the entertainment world.

1. Teni and Niniola Apata

Although they are sisters and singers in the same music industry, both are afrobeat queens, but there is a slight difference in their personalities.

In a recent chat, Teni described herself as one who has always been the “Jaga Jaga” type, while Niniola has always been the pretty type.

Teni said she is an extrovert while Niniola is an introvert and that can be perceived in their career.

“It wasn’t intentional, I have always been different. Nini has always been the pretty type. Me I have always been the Jaga Jaga…I’ll play basketball, come back home, go back and play soccer then come and play games.

“I am an extrovert and Nini is more like an introvert. Music made her come out more. We are just two different people.”

Although, they have both earned different awards and recognitions for their musical efforts.

2. Psquare, Jude Okoye

Psquare is a music duo that rocked the music industry few years back. Just when their fans thought that the duo, Paul and Peter, who produced songs and albums together could not split like other groups, news surfaced that they were at loggerheads with one another.

The cause of their rift is yet uncertain, but Rudeboy, while speaking in an interview with Accelerate TV, attributed it to “family issue”, despite the prominent belief is that it was caused by music.

Their brother, Jude, was known to be their manager as at the time they produced songs together and has also been at loggerheads with Peter.

It is safe to say that their fight has been one of the biggest celebrity fights recorded in the Nigerian music industry.

3.The Afolayans

We can boldly say that the Afolayan's family is blessed with talents. Their late father, popularly called Adelove, was an actor who raised four talented ones in the movie industry. They are Moji, Kunle, Aremu and Gabriel Afolayan. Being perfect in their interpretation of roles makes them popular faces in the industry.

However, Kunle is not only an actor but a filmmaker, whose epic movies arguably stands out among the regular kind ones. Aremu mostly plays the role of a playboy or gangster. For Gabriel? When it comes to interpreting the roles of a lover boy who would go any length to love and satisfy a lady, he is a perfect person. Moji, although not so active in the industry is the wife of veteran actor, Ojopagogo.

4. Kenny George and twin brother

Little did many know that this beautiful and award-winning actress is the twin sister of  Taiwo Ibikunle, although they go by different surnames in movies and do not have a striking resemblance, which makes it a bit difficult to note. George is also a producer whose movies arguably stand out and most preach what happens in the outside world Professionally, she began her career in 2013, with her first appearance in ‘Tete’ by Lola Alao in 2006.

5. Yul and Linc Edochie

Their family is also another one full of actors. Their parents, Pete and Josephine, are veteran actors who also raised talented ones. Apart from being an actor, Yul is also a politician.

6. Dj Cuppy and Tolani Otedola

The beautiful sisters are popular people in the Nigerian music industry, with an influential father, Femi Otedola, who is one of the philanthropists and billionaires Nigeria has produced. However, Tolani with the melodious voice, is not as popular as DJ Cuppy, who is also a disc jockey.

7. D’prince and Don Jazzy

Little did many know that D’Prince, born Charles Enebeli, is a younger sibling to legendary music producer Collins Ajere, better known as Don Jazzy.

D’prince, who is also a songwriter has his mentor as Fela Kuti and Bob Marley. Don Jazzy, on the other hand, is the CEO Mavin Record, a music label established in 2013. He has raised top music stars like Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Reekado Banks and Rema, among others.

8. The Aneke twins

They are popular faces in the Nollywood industry. Chidinma and Chidiebere proceeded to graduate with Bachelor in Mass Communication and Bachelor in Banking and Finance respectively.

They joined the Nollywood industry in 1999 and acted in the movie ‘Ebuka’ which happens to be their first movie. The movie ‘Ebuka’ gave them an edge in Nollywood. In 2004, the Aneke twins rose to fame with the movie ‘Desperate Twins’ which earned them the nomination for The Most Promising Acts to Watch at the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Award. They have acted in over 80 movies.

9. The Kosokos

Nollywood actors, Sola Kosoko-Abina and Bidemi Kosoko, are two siblings treading the path of their father who is a veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko. Although, it is not something new seeing siblings engaging in their father’s trade.

Sola’s interest in acting developed when her father dragged her into the profession as a child, even though she had wanted to be a lawyer or broadcaster.

As for Bidemi, her father, in an old interview had said she has been a theatre person from her mother’s womb.

10. The Adebayo brothers

Femi, Tope and Sodiq Adebayo are the sons of legendary actor, Adebayo Salami.

The three have followed in the footsteps on their father and they are doing a wonderful job in the movie industry.
