Census 2023: Committee On Security And Logistics Inaugurated In Osun

The Osun State Government has promised to support the National Population Commission with all necessary assistance for the successful conduct of 2023 Census.

The government made this promise during the inauguration of the State Census Security and Logistics Committee.

The inauguration ceremony was performed by the state governor, Ademola Adeleke.

The Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye while inaugurating the committee on behalf of Governor Adeleke thanked all the heads of security agencies in Osun for their prompt response to security challenges in the state before, during and after the election.

While charging them to do more for the state and for the entire nation as a whole, the governor assured that the state government will give full support to the committee in order to enable it perform the assignment efficiently and effectively. 

The Committee in which Governor Adeleke is the Chairman also has Teslim Igbalaye and the National Population Commission (NPC), Federal Commissioner, Senator Mudashiru Hussain as Co-chairman,while Owoye Martins is designated to serve as Secretary to the Committee.

Remarking, Senator Mudashiru Hussain stated that the Commission attached great importance to the work of the Security and Logistics Committee in its quest to give Nigeria a credible, reliable and acceptable census data for national planning.

Hussein promised that the Commission will, without delay to oragnise a workshop on processes and methodologies for the census in order to get the stakeholders adequately mobilised for the assignment.
