Robert Lewandowski

Bayern Munich coach Julien Nagelsmann has revealed his side's plan to stop former striker Robert Lewandowski ahead of the Champions clash against Barcelona on Tuesday.

Lewandowski left Bayern Munich to join Barcelona in the summer after eight successful years at the Allianz Arena.

He has been firing on all cylinders for Barcelona, scoring nine goals in six games for his new club.

Nagelsmann has given a hint about how he and his Bayern Munich players intend to stop Lewandowski.

"We have to stop passes and crosses to him.

"But there are several other very good players in that team as well."

"He is their most dangerous threat in front of goal," added Nagelsmann.

"If he maintains the physical fitness, he can play for sure a few more seasons at this level.

"In the last few years, he has been scoring about 40 goals a year.

"He is on a good road toward achieving that this season."

Lewandowski scored 344 goals in 374 games for Bayern Munich in all competitions.

He won numerous trophies at the Allianz Arena, including the Uefa Champions League in 2020.

Barcelona have enjoyed an impressive start to the season scoring 15 goals in five La Liga matches, while Bayern Munich, on the other hand, have drawn their last three matches in the Bundesliga against Monchengladbach, Union Berlin and Stuttgart.
