Chelsea Agree £10M Per Annum Deal With Koulibaly — Fabriz

Koulibaly

Chelsea have taken a huge step forward in reinforcing their defence after agreeing £10M-a-year-deal with Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues are losing defenders this season -Rudiger to Real Madrid and Andreas Christensen to Barcelona.

Also, reports are linking Marcus Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta to Barcelona which means they would be need some reinforcement in the backline.

Signing Koulibaly will be a quick fix for Chelsea who are also targeting Manchester City's Nathan Ake who could be returning to Stamford Bridge having played there in his early days.

Koulibaly 30, will join force with Thiago Silva 37 to be Chelsea's backline if they can squeeze 1-2 years out them before one of them retire, maybe then Koulibaly could continue with Ake or Chalobah who has also been showing signs of good things.

Either way, Koulibaly remains one of Europe's elite defenders and Chelsea would be more than happy to have him with his wealth of experience.

It was reported that Barcelona were targeting the Napoli centre-back but it seems Chelsea is leading the race and with personal terms agreed, it could be a matter of days.
