Chelsea, Manchester City share spoils in eight goals thrille

Chelsea and Manchester City shared the spoils in an eight-goal thriller as both sides displayed their wares in the entire Premier League game.

It was a promising game to watch as Chelsea welcomed Pep Guardiola's men at Stamford Bridge. But it was the visitors that took the lead in the 25th minute.

Erling Haaland took responsibility from 12 yards and dispatched the ball into the net to set the tone for an epic finish in the game.

However, Thiago Silva equalized with a thumping header to make it 1-1 in the 29th minute. Raheem Sterling will give Chelsea a surprise lead in the match with a goal against his former club Manchester City to make it 2-1.

Sterling scored in the 37th minute. The visitors soon responded as Nigerian-born Swiss International Manuel Akanji powered a header from a resulting corner to make it 2-2 at the stroke of halftime.

After the restart, it took barely two minutes for Erling Haaland to bundle the ball over the line under pressure to give his side the lead with the score line at 2-3.

Chelsea would equalize yet again as in-form Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson made it 3-3 in the 67th minute with a striker's finish.

But with the game getting to the closing stages Rodri struck what looked like the winner after a mix-up outside Chelsea's box.

That's 3-4 in the 86th minute but former Manchester City star Cole Palmer kept his cool to convert from the Penalty spot to make it 4-4 in the 90+5 minute. In the end, it finished 4-4 apiece between Manchester City and Chelsea.
