Chelsea Legend, Drogba Advises Mourinho, Slams European Super League

Chelsea Legend, Drogba Advises Mourinho, Slams European Supe

The Ivorian legend, Didier Drogba has advised his manager during his stint at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho to 'enjoy his life after the Portuguese was shown the door at Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho was relieved of his duties after 17 months at the North London club as a result of poor performance which puts the 2019 UEFA Champions League finalist in a situation that they might not see European club in the next season.

The Portuguese coach was the man who first brought Drogba to Stamford Bridge back in 2004, and the ex-Ivory Coast international clearly still has huge respect for his old boss.

Mourinho's next move is unknown to anyone, but it appears highly doubtful he will return to Premier League football, with a role at the international level currently looking like the most likely option.

Drogba, meanwhile, has recently backed a new Global Partnership for Education (GPE) "Raise Your Hand" financing campaign.

The campaign, launched in October 2020 with the United Kingdom and Kenya, aims to raise at least $5bn to help transform education systems in more than 90 low-income countries and territories, which are home to more than a billion children.

The campaign will conclude at the Global Education Summit in London on 28-29 July, hosted by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta.

On The European Super League

The former Chelsea striker also has some words against the Super League as he posted on his social media stating: "Promotion, relegation, unexpected results is what drives the emotions of the game, Being together, as players, as fans... that’s what makes it the beautiful game."

Or even Liverpool working hard to win the Premier League title in front of the “big four” is what makes football a beautiful game. Imagine all this effort and not being allowed to compete against other teams because you’re not one of them despite playing the same game."

The European Super League is dead in the waters after all founding Premier League clubs have backed out, Juventus, Inter Milan also have stepped away from the arrangement in Italy.

The UEFA has released the new format for the Champions League which will kick start in 2024.
