Chelsea Sack Thomas Tuchel After Dinamo Zagreb Loss

Chelsea have sacked head coach Thomas Tuchel following a staggering start to the 2022-23 season.

Chelsea reached rock-bottom in 1-0 opening day defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Blues have struggled to impress after spending over £200m in the summer.

Following an embarrassing loss to Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, the club announced the sacking of Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday morning.

The German tactician joins the list of people to leave the club after Todd Boehly take over of the Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel guided Chelsea to Championship League Glory in 2021.

The club confirmed in a statement on its website on Wednesday morning.

"Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel.

"On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club.

"Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here."

Chelsea will be back in Premier League action on Saturday against Fulham.
