Chelsea's predicted starting line-up against Sky Bet Championship side Middlesbrough

Chelsea's predicted starting line-up against Sky Bet Champio

Chelsea would take the trip to Riverside Stadium to confront Middlesbrough for a clash in the Semi-finals of the ELF Cup on Tuesday night.

Chelsea boss Pochettino must be able to make do without the services of striker Christopher Nkunku for this match.

Mauricio Pochettino reiterated on Monday that Nkunku would not feature in this match since he's only got better from a severe knee injury before he damaged his hip in training.

The likes of Ben Chilwell (hamstring), Carney Chukwuemeka (knee) and Benoit Badiashile (unspecified) are back in full training but they need some time to be ready for action.

While Reece James (hamstring),Wesley Fofana (knee), Marc Cucurella (ankle), Robert Sanchez (knee) Lesley Ugochukwu (hamstring),Trevoh Chalobah (thigh issue) and Romeo Lavia (thigh) are still out injured.

Andrey Santos is back from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest (cup-tied) while Nicolas Jackson is away on international duty with the Senegal National team.

Armando Broja would likely start in this match after opening the scoring against Preston North End more especially as Nkunku (recovering) and Jackson (away on International duty) won't be available.

This should see former Manchester City stars Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling featuring behind him in the final third.

Noni Madueke could start in the stead of Mykhaylo Mudryk while Moises Caicedo played the entire 90 minutes against Preston.

But could be dropped as Chelsea boss Pochettino looks to freshen the team up with a place for Conor Gallagher in the midfield.

Yoing lad Alfie Gilchrist had an evening to remember against Preston on Saturday, but he could be dropped for veteran defender Thiago Silva to come into the team for his experience.

Chelsea possible starting lineup in a 4-2-3-1 formation scheme

Dorde Petrovic; Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, Levi Colwill; Conor Gallagher, Enzo Fernandez; Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling; Armando Broja
